Welcome to FBBC on the web and let me share with you that it is a genuine joy to serve as senior pastor to this sweet group of Christ followers. Growing up in New Mexico certainly prepared me for the spicy cooking we love here in south Louisiana but I’m still working on pronouncing the names of places that end in “x”, and driving in downpours of rain. My wife Faith, and my children Joshua (12), Whitney (10), and Justyn (5) are excited to be part of this community and when we aren’t at church you can usually find us on a ball field of one sort or another playing, coaching, or cheering for our friends who are. Of course, fishing, shooting, antiquing, and cheering for our Cubbies definitely figure into the mix.
I accepted Christ as a result of Vacation Bible School and remain passionately committed to investing in the lives of children through God’s inerrant Word. Florida Boulevard is a congregation that is pursuing missional ministry throughout East Baton Rouge, Livingston, and Ascension Parishes and is dedicated to expanding the diversity of our ministries to reflect our community. That process gets me really excited! Oh, that’s right, I’m supposed to be sharing my history, sorry about that.
I have had the privilege of serving churches in New Mexico, Michigan, Florida, and North Carolina. Along the way I have studied at the University of New Mexico, Liberty University, Trinity Seminary, Andersonville Baptist Seminary, Liberty Baptist Seminary, and Southeastern Baptist Seminary an earned a Bachelor’s in Religion specializing in youth ministry, a Master of Ministry, Doctor of Theology (Examining the Postponed Kingdom in Matthew), Doctor of Pastoral Counseling (Short-Term Counseling Models for the Local Church), Doctor of Ministry (Tactical Church: Utilizing the principles from The Art of War for missional transition), and currently finishing a Doctor of Education specializing in organizational leadership (Review of how the SBC has taught the creation accounts in the book of Genesis). I promised Faith the next degree will be the last!

We moved to Baton Rouge from Houston, Texas in 1976. FBBC is where the Lord led us when we looked for a new church home. My husband, Odis, and I teach Sunday School. We are planning to begin a new class for young adults in March. In the past, I coordinated children's choirs for several years, taught children's Sunday School, and Single Adult Sunday School. Thanks to our 3 children, we have 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. My favorite name is Grandma! I am employed by FBBC as ministry assistant to the pastor, the minister to senior adults, the women's ministry director and men's ministry leadership. I am actively involved in women's ministry and facilitate a ladies' Bible study. Service is one of my spiritual gifts and I am blessed with the opportunity to serve at FBBC.
Heather has worked as a technical assistant running sound, lights, and computer for services for 18 years. She is now working as music ministry assistant.

Lori is the Weekday Preschool Director. She has been a part of this Ministry since June, 2001. She's been happily married to Jason for over twenty years, and they have two sons Jacob and Cade.
She feels it is both an honor and a privilege to be allowed to minister to the children and their families that we serve on a daily basis.
